Why this course

This course provides a clause-by-clause examination of AS 1926.1-2024 Swimming pool safety – Safety barriers for swimming pools, supported by a structured field workflow for assessing barrier heights, non-climbable zones, openings, gates and alternative barriers. It also addresses the legal framework that applies in the Australian Capital Territory, including the Building Act 2004, the Building (General) Regulation 2008 and the transition to NCC 2025. Learners will determine the applicable compliance pathway for a pool or spa based on its construction or alteration date, and distinguish statutory non-compliance from best-practice advice. With the ACT reform deadline of 1 May 2028 approaching, the course equips practitioners to provide accurate, defensible guidance to owners and clients.
