Why this course

This course provides a clause-by-clause examination of AS 1926.1-2024 Swimming pool safety – Safety barriers for swimming pools, supported by a structured field workflow for assessing barrier heights, non-climbable zones, openings, gates and alternative barriers. It also addresses the legal framework that applies in South Australia, including the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act 2016, the Planning, Development and Infrastructure (Swimming Pool Safety) Regulations 2019 and Ministerial Building Standard MBS 004. Learners will determine the applicable compliance pathway for a pool or spa based on its approval or construction date, and distinguish statutory non-compliance from best-practice advice. With NCC 2022 Amendment 2 remaining operative until NCC 2025 is adopted on 1 May 2027, the course equips practitioners to provide accurate, defensible guidance to owners and clients.
