Why this course

This course provides a clause-by-clause examination of AS 1926.1-2024 Swimming pool safety – Safety barriers for swimming pools, supported by a structured field workflow for assessing barrier heights, non-climbable zones, openings, gates and alternative barriers. It also addresses the legal framework that applies in Victoria, including the Building Act 1993 and Part 9A of the Building Regulations 2018. Learners will confirm the applicable barrier standard for a pool or spa, apply the correct compliance or non-compliance certificate pathway, and distinguish statutory non-compliance from best-practice advice. With ongoing registration and four-yearly certification now central to Victoria's framework, the course equips practitioners to provide accurate, defensible guidance to owners and clients.
